Rivki Rose Training is extremely excited to announce today that we’ve been successful in applying to National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) Cymru for funding to hold events during the Festival of Dangerous Ideas (FODI) 16th – 27th February 2015.
The Festival of Dangerous ideas aims to get us all talking about the future of adult education – to think outside of the box, to step out of the usual concept of adult education, our own experiences and our current ideas. If we were to design adult education from scratch, what would it look and feel like? Who would pay for it? How would we experience it? Is spending on children’s education wasted? Does a degree all it’s cracked up to be, and does it really prepare us for work? Do we teach in the learning styles that we learn? If the future is digital, have we lost our way?
BIG questions, I know!
Through this funding stream, we’re going to take a step outside of our usual model of adult education and take a peek at what it looks like when we’re able to direct it ourselves, and when we’re able to really value the core economy – the rich source of knowledge, experience and history that both you and I have built up over our life time.
Sounding cryptic? More details to follow soon…
In the mean time, details of the Festival of Dangerous Ideas itself can be found here. This page will open in a new window.
