Tackling Poverty: Developing Skills
From February 2014 the National Institute for Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) Dysgu Cymru began working with the Communities First Clusters on a project which will deliver learning and skills for adults. As part of the project, which is funded by Communities Division of Welsh Government, they began to commission some short learning sessions that will encourage adults into learning and help them on the path to fulfilling their adaptations.
The search began to look for learning providers in Wales (any sector), to design and deliver innovative workshops, that will;
- Attract those who are not currently in work or learning
- Provide participants with skills or learning outcomes
- Motivate participants to do more learning or take up another new activity
Workshop delivery will be linked to the NIACE Dysgu Cymru campaigns May/June 2014, August/September/October 2014 and January 2015.
A proposal was submitted by Rivki Rose Training and selected by two Communities First clusters. Delivery will commence in October 2014 with Western Valleys Communities First, and in January 2015 with Newport Central Communities First.
