Quick Read Journey: Sarah Bowen

“Studying at adult age changed my whole world and gave me so much, I recommend it to anyone considering it”

“For years I wanted to do a Master’s in Psychology. I have always been fascinated by people and it seemed like the perfect fit. However, due to the lack of funds and the fact I had a BA in History (not Psychology!) it just seemed unrealistic.

The dream still lingered and it never went too far from my mind. I went through a few rubbish jobs where I wasn’t challenged or appreciated, and my confidence and self-worth was very low.Learner Story_Sarah Bowen

One day when casually browsing information on Masters opportunities I cam across something called a ‘Conversion MSc’ and low and behold, it was available in Psychology and basically meant those with a different degree were now able to study as Masters level in Psychology, I also found out about how a student loan was also available and that I could study part time, it was a dream come true!

I applied, got accepted and started my 2 years journey which would inevitably, and unknown to me, change my life in so amazing ways! I met loads of inspiring people along the way and made lifelong friends. I managed somehow to achieve a Merit overall and a Distinction in my dissertation!

I now have an awesome job that I absolutely adore and a fab boss by the name of Kay. Studying at adult age changed my whole world and gave me so much, I recommend it to anyone considering it.”
